Welcome to Goodrich Quarter Horses where we breed for quality not quantity. We are a working cow-calf operation located on the northern edge of the Nebraska Sandhills. We are just twelve miles from South Dakota , 100 miles from Wyoming and 160 miles from Colorado .

Gary has always had a passion and an eye for a good horse and has been in the horse business since the 1960's. Before he was old enough to drive he hitch-hiked from his home in Burwell to a horse sale in Loup City . Of course he bought a horse, returned home and tried to explain to his dad why they had to go back to Loup City for his purchase. That was the beginning of a long love affair with horses.

Our children have all used our horses in the 4-H program. Our daughter, Bobbie, won the over-all Four Year Futurity program on her gelding Yeller. This included yearling at halter, two year old at western pleasure, three year old in reining, and four year old in trail. She also went on to use this horse in high school rodeo, and Yeller even got to go to college where "some of the guys" used him for team roping.

Our son Brent won the second year trophy in the same 4-H Futurity program for performance and conformation on his mare Quick Lady Charger who is now in our brood mare band. Brent also team roped on his gelding Star Bucks Image, whose sire and dam were part of our original herd.

Brandon is currently in high school rodeo and is heeling on Black Images, a seven year old daughter out of Quick Lady Charger. Black Images is also accumulating points in the AQHA Youth Heading Event.

Please stop in and look around if you're in the area. The coffee pot is always on. Special consideration is always given to 4-H projects or young riders.
